So, it's been three months since I began this journey as a freelancer. It's funny, because I spent a good portion of the very early part of my career in newspaper photography freelancing, some 19, 20 years ago. This has been a very different experience though, as the stakes are very different. But I've been keeping busy, at least trying to, as now most of my days are spent hunting for clients instead of shooting.
I really wanted to get some surf-related images and hit up my friends Steve and Stu who took me out to their spot. I didn't really get what I wanted of them in the water, but I liked these two of them getting in and one of Steve getting out.
A few weeks back I was hired by a parent of an Ilwaco football player to get images of the team during a non-league game. I was a little rusty but very happy to be out there.
A client I've been doing a fair amount of work for the last few months is the Long Beach Peninsula Visitors Bureau. Earlier this month they had me visit some of the cranberry harvests and a tour of the public oyster beds by a PBS film crew.
I've also been doing — and will continue to — a fair bit of work with my friends who own the Olympic Photo Group. Here are a few pix I've made at a pair of weddings earlier this fall.
And this I just came across while driving home the other night
I will definitely be sharing more on here with more regularity than I have been, as I have a number of things that may be coming up in the near future that I'm excited to talk about but can't just yet. Until then, cya
